Our Commitment to Open Dialogue
We believe in the fundamental human right to freedom of expression, as outlined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR). We encourage open, diverse, and constructive conversations within our community. However, this freedom comes with responsibilities to respect the rights, privacy, and reputations of others, as well as the laws of Thailand.
1. Protected Expression (What We Encourage)
We welcome healthy debate and differing opinions. You are encouraged to:
- Share your personal perspectives and experiences.
- Engage in constructive criticism of ideas, policies, and public matters.
- Ask questions and participate in community discussions respectfully.
2. Compliance with Thai Law (Strictly Prohibited Content)
To protect our users and maintain legal compliance within Thailand, comments must not violate national laws. The following content will be immediately removed:
- Lèse-majesté (Section 112): Any content that defames, insults, or threatens the King, the Queen, the Heir-apparent, or the Regent of Thailand.
- Defamation and Libel: False statements that unjustly damage the reputation of an individual, business, or organization, as defined by the Thai Penal Code.
- Computer-Related Crime Act Violations: The spreading of false information (fake news) that could damage national security, public safety, national economic stability, or cause public panic.
- Obscenity: The distribution of pornographic or sexually explicit material that is accessible to the public, which violates Thai cyber laws.
3. Community Safety & Human Rights Protection
While we protect free speech, human rights frameworks also protect individuals from discrimination, violence, and abuse. We do not tolerate:
- Hate Speech: Language that attacks or demeans individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, gender identity, sexual orientation, or disability.
- Harassment and Doxing: Bullying, stalking, targeted intimidation, or the unauthorized sharing of someone's private, personally identifiable information.
- Incitement to Violence: Content that encourages, threatens, or glorifies physical harm, illegal acts, or violence against any person or group.
4. Moderation, Enforcement, and User Rights
- Content Moderation: We reserve the right to hide, delete, or restrict comments that violate this policy.
- Account Actions: Repeated or severe violations may result in temporary or permanent suspension of your commenting privileges.
- Right to Appeal: If you believe your comment was removed in error, you have the right to request a review by contacting our moderation team.
- Government and Legal Orders: We may be legally required to remove specific content or disclose user information if presented with a valid, binding court order from Thai authorities. We will strive to review all legal requests to ensure they comply with international human rights standards regarding necessity and proportionality.
